The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine sees no preconditions for the rise in sunflower oil prices in Ukraine in the short and long term, nor for their significant reduction.
This was stated by First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy Taras Vysotsky at the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development, ProAgro Group reports.
“We absolutely do not see preconditions for further growth of sunflower oil prices. Will there be preconditions for their reduction – many months of futures show that no, but the market is difficult to predict. So in the short and long term we do not see prerequisites for growth, “- said the Deputy Minister.
According to his data, the decline in sunflower oil prices may begin in mid-December after the completion of the sunflower seed harvest.
“At the beginning of December, the USDA will make a forecast, then it will be possible to predict the possibility of a price decrease, but now we believe that they will remain at last year’s level plus or minus 5-7%, but it is more the exchange difference, due to a certain devaluation (of the dollar),” – said Vysotsky.
