Spring sowing season in war conditions is over and it is already possible to make estimates for the potential harvest in 2022.
As reported by ProAgro Group, according to UCAB estimates, Ukrainian agrarians may harvest in 2022:
wheat – 18 million tons (32.2 million tons in 2021);
corn – 25.7 million tons (42.1 million tons in 2021);
barley – 5.2 mln tonnes (9.4 mln tonnes);
other cereals – 1.4 million tons (2.3 million tons).
That is the total harvest of cereals in 2022 will be about 50.4 million tons, compared with last year’s 86 million tons.
As for oilseeds, this year’s crop expectations are as follows:
sunflower – 10.6 million tons (16.4 million tons in 2021) ;
soybeans – 3.0 million tons (3.5 million tons in 2021);
rapeseed – 2.7 million tons (2.9 million tons).
