Ukraine’s Minagro sees no risk of excessive wheat exports

At a meeting with representatives of the grain market the Ministry of Agriculture presented preliminary data on the balance of supply and demand of grain and leguminous crops in 2021/22 MY. This is reported by the ProAgro Group with reference to the information of the Ministry.

So, according to preliminary estimates, the total gross output of grain will amount to 83.8 million tons, including 32.1 million tons of wheat and 40 million tons of corn.

Regarding the interim results on grain exports, according to the State Customs Service of Ukraine for July-January 2021/22 MY was exported 17 million tons of wheat, of which 11 million tons of food wheat and 5.6 million forage.

“As of today, there has been a slight decline in the rate of grain exports. Therefore, there are no risks of excessive exports of wheat. It is an important task for us to maintain balance and stability on the grain market, as well as to solve disputable moments”, – said Deputy Minister Taras Vysotsky.

Besides, participants of the meeting considered the question concerning actual state of winter crops and forecast for 2023 on early sowing of agricultural crops.
