Britain is ready to clear Ukrainian ports to restore grain exports

Britain wants to help Ukraine de-mine its southern coast in order to solve the problem with grain exports. This was announced by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, reports ProAgro Group.

Now London is discussing technical details with Kyiv. The country is also considering the possibility of providing insurance for ships that will take grain from Ukraine. At present the British insurance companies are reluctant to provide insurance policies to vessels, which sail in the region, because of the security situation.

In addition, London is also working with Turkey and European partners to unblock Ukrainian ports, said Boris Johnson. According to the head of the British Foreign Office, Liz Truss, this must be done within a month. Otherwise, the world could be dealing with devastating consequences.

“I don’t want to get into technical or military details, but you can understand it from what we’ve already done in terms of supplying equipment to the Ukrainians to help them protect themselves. We’re certainly talking to them about how on a technical level we can help clear Odesa. Putin is demanding a ransom for 23 million tons of grain. This is completely unconscionable. Such grain stocks could help people all over the world,” Boris Johnson stressed.
