Poland may build granaries for Ukraine in 3-4 months

Poland is considering the possibility of building granaries for Ukraine. This was stated by the Minister of Agriculture of the country Henryk Kowalczyk, reports “ProAgro Group”.

He specified that the construction of temporary granaries on the border with Ukraine for the export of grain will take three to four months.

“We are talking about location, size, supporting infrastructure, sources of funding, ownership issues and many other problems,” said the Polish minister.

According to Kowalczyk, the granaries should be located where the Ukrainian track ends in order to facilitate its further transportation. He also noted that now Poland can provide the export of about 1.5 million tons of grain from Ukraine per month, while the need is about 5 million tons.

“At the same time, it should be noted that such investments can be completed in about three to four months,” Kowalczyk added.

As reported, the EU governments will consider providing Ukraine with temporary storage facilities for grain, which should significantly help to preserve the harvest and ensure future supplies of grain to world markets.
