Ukraine prepares “plan B” in case of impossibility of sea ports deblocking

The government continues to work with international partners (UN) to resolve the situation with the transportation of grain through sea routes. According to “ProAgro Group”, the first deputy minister of agricultural policy Taras Vysotsky told about it on the air of the telethon.

“The idea itself is important and necessary, without it we will not be able to realize the entire export potential. And, understandably, it is necessary to have several factors: it is enough anti-ship weapons, and military support. So work is continuing in this direction. When we have the final details agreed upon by Ukraine, we can inform you,” he noted.

At the same time, Ukraine is already preparing additional storage capacity, so that with the option of no exports through the ports was possible to store both last year’s residues and the new crop, which in a month will be actively harvested, added Vysotsky.

“Given the carry-over from last year and on this year’s crop forecast, there could be a deficit in the range of 10-15 million tons. Therefore, now as a “plan B” for the storage of grain, in case it is impossible to export quickly, mobile elevator banks and sleeves are brought in to have in the potential reserve equipment to store these additional tons,” – he said.
